Palazzo Strozzi hosts an extraordinary exhibition devoted to the art of the 16th century in Florence: more than seventy among the greatest works of art of the period. The represented artists are some of the most famous in the 1500’s: Michelangelo, Bronzino, Giorgio Vasari, Pontormo, Giambologna.
A sort of coral conversation about the concept of Beauty, in an era of art, outstanding cultural and intellectual talent. The exhibition closes on the 21st of January, representing the end of a trilogy began in Palazzo Strozzi with Bronzino in 2010 and was followed by Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino in 2014. The whole trilogy has celebrated a period characterised both by the Council of Trent and its Counter-Reformation, and by the personality of Francesco I de’ Medici, one of the greatest patrons of the arts in Europe.
Opening hours: daily including holidays 10.00-20.00, Thursdays 10.00-23.00.
