Herbert Percy Horne, Englishman in love with Florence, chose to make his home there and gave his name to one of the most interesting museums in the city. Lover of art, music, literature and friend in London of Oscar Wilde and Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Horne was also a great collector. Thanks to the donation of his home and collections this city has been enriched. This story is told for the first time in an exhibit entitled Horne & Friends. Florence a dream to save.
Herbert Percy Horne remains an enigmatic figure whose contribution to culture between the 19th and 20th centuries due to his multiple interests is still being evaluated; the Museum, with the special exhibit titled Horne & Friends documents his notable talents as a refined illustrator, poet and reference point for numerous English and American artists and intellectuals present in Florence at that time.
